McLean Community Center Invites Public Input At FY'25 Budget Hearings

The McLean Community Center governing board is holding two meetings in September as the center works on its proposed budget for FY'25.

MCLEAN, VA — The McLean Community Center governing board is holding two meetings in September as the community center works on its proposed budget for fiscal year 2025.

Residents are invited to attend a finance committee hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 6 where the full board will examine the fiscal year 2025 proposed budget. The second meeting, a FY2025 Budget Public Hearing, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Residents of Dranesville Small District 1A, who pay a real estate surcharge to support the community center, are invited to attend both meetings. Both meetings will be held at the community center and will start at 6:30 p.m.

Residents of the district who plan to speak at the Sept. 27 public hearing should call 703-790-0123 to have their names placed on a speakers list.

The fiscal year 2025 budget year begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025.

Residents are encouraged to attend the in-person meetings to share their ideas and suggestions. They can also submit their comments by mail to McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, VA 22201, or by email at feedback@mcleancenter.org.

Residents can continue to submit written comments on the proposed budget after the public hearing through Friday, Oct. 6. The MCC Governing Board will vote on the fiscal year 2025 budget proposal at its meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m.

The final budget proposal will be voted on by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in spring 2024. The McLean Community Center is a special agency of the Fairfax County government.
