McLean Community Foundation Funds $10,000 Phoenix House Grant

The Phoenix House, a behavioral health organization, has helped more than 40,000 individuals reclaim their lives from substance abuse.

From McLean Community Foundation: The McLean Community Foundation is proud to announce the funding of a $10,000 grant for the Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic’s expanded residential facility and new health and fitness center. The Phoenix House is a behavioral health organization that has helped more than 40,000 individuals reclaim their lives from the ravages of substance abuse. The grant will go towards new retractable basketball hoops and other fitness and classroom equipment. Given the current public health emergency in Virginia due to the increased use of heroin and other opioids, MCF is proud to support this leader in treatment and long-term recovery methods.

Other recent grants were awarded to Historic Pleasant Grove, founded as a church by freed slaves and now a museum and community meeting facility, and to Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center, which helps meet the need for affordable, full-time child care for working families.

The McLean Community Foundation (MCF) is a non-profit formed in 1978 by the McLean Citizen’s Association to meet the philanthropic needs of a growing McLean community. The focus is entirely on efforts that benefit the McLean community.
