McLean Fundraiser to Kick Off Ralph Northam's Run for Governor
Reception in McLean will raise funds for Democrat's run for governorship of Virginia.

McLEAN, VA -- Tired of politics? Democrats in Virginia aren't letting Tuesday's presidential election outcome get them down. A fundraising reception is planned for Dec. 3 in McLean for Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, who is running for governor.
Northam "may be best positioned to benefit from Trump's victory, as the Old Dominion's electorate typically votes against the president's party," the Loudoun Times reported. "Whether that history helps Northam now depends on the one of the most unpredictable political figures in modern history."
Northam, a pediatric neurologist and former state senator who lives in Norfolk with his wife Pam, has the field to himself among Democrats. Republicans running for governor include Ed Gillespie, former RNC chair, and Prince William County Supervisor Corey Stewart, a big Trump supporter, who was fired from the campaign.
