McLean's Hometown Marine Stops by Greenberrys

McLean's hometown U.S. Marine Mohammed “Sam” Zaidan, stopped by Greenberry's late last week to say hello to friends.

Sam, as he is called, served in the Marines for four years. First, in Iraq. Then six months in Helmand Province in Afghanistan. He served in Golf Company, Second Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment — “America’s Battalion.”

Sam graduated from Herndon High in 1997. In 2000, his family moved to a new address on Old Dominion Drive.

He's now out of the Marines and living in North Carolina. He graduates with an associate degree in computer science from Northern Virginia Community College in May.

His current plans: get a job and make arrangements to attend the University of Virginia or George Mason University.
