More Office Space Approved for 'The Boro' Development in Tysons

The Boro will be located near the Greensboro metro station in Tysons.

McLEAN, VA -- Developers Meridian Group and Kettler received approval recently from Fairfax County to convert some of its residential space to office at its luxe development called "The Boro" in Tysons. County supervisors OK'd the plan to convert an additional 25,000 square feet in their original development plan into offices.

More details are being revealed as plans take shape for "The Boro," in Tysons. The Boro is where the new (and largest in the area, at 70,000 square feet) Whole Foods and future public library will be located, along with offices, apartments and other retailers.

The apartments (up to 800) will be located in four residential towers on 3.9 acres at Westpark and Greensboro Drive. The towers will be up to 34 stories high.

Also part of the package: A 15-screen luxury movie theater offering reserved seating with a 150-seat bistro, according to Fairfax County. The theater will be part of Showplace Icon Theatre. The company has locations in Chicago, Minneapolis and New Jersey. The theater is expected to open in the summer of 2018.

The development is planned at an 18-acre site where the 13-story Enterprise building previously stood. The office was one of the four buildings that made up SAIC’s former headquarters campus that the federal contractor sold in 2013, according to Fairfax County.
