UPDATE: New Cable TV Company Layer3 TV Launches in Northern Virginia
"You're going to sign up for us because you're going to get a lot more value for the same price," CEO Jeff Binder says.

Tired of Comcast, Cox or Fios? There's a new kid on the block, Layer3 TV, the first new cable TV service provider in over a decade, which is making its debut in the D.C. metro area, the company announced in a news release this week.
You can get a hands-on demo and order Layer3 TV home cable services at kiosks located in Tysons Corner Center in McLean. Here's what the service is (and is not):
- Layer3 TV delivers through "closed networks" using Internet protocol.
- The company is not an internet TV service, and the service is not available online or over the Internet.
- Their installation is no different than any other cable TV provider.
"You're not going to sign up for us because you're going to save money," Jeff Binder, co-founder and CEO of Denver-based Layer3 TV, told the Chicago Tribune. "You're going to sign up for us because you're going to get a lot more value for the same price."
