New Chinese Restaurant Opening Next Month in McLean

Chef Liu Chaosheng's restaurants are "widely considered among DC's more authentic Chinese restaurant options​," according to Eater DC.

McLEAN, VA -- Chef Liu Chaosheng, whose restaurants are "widely considered among DC's more authentic Chinese restaurant options," according to Eater DC, plans to open a new restaurant called Asia Origin in McLean, eyeing an opening date of Nov. 18, Chaosheng said Tuesday.

The new restaurant, which will offer authentic traditional and "Americanized" Chinese food, is located at 1753 Pinnacle Drive in McLean (see map below). The spot was formerly home to Panache restaurant. The new restaurant will seat about 100 and will offer carry-out and delivery. Chaosheng plans to offer beer and wine at the restaurant.

Chaosheng operates at least three restaurants in the area, including Hongkong Palace in Seven Corners, Mala Tang in Arlington and Uncle Liu's Hot Pot in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County. Hong Kong Palace has earned four out of five stars from 333 reviews on Yelp. Mala Tang has earned 3.5 stars from 424 reviews on Yelp. Uncle Liu's has earned 3.5 stars from 175 reviews on Yelp.
