New Opening Date Set For Debut Of McLean Eatery
A restaurant chain that had planned to open a McLean location in mid-November has announced a new opening date.
MCLEAN, VA — After a delay of several weeks, Sweetgreen will officially open its new restaurant in McLean's Chesterbrook Shopping Center on Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to a company spokeswoman.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests will enjoy special treats and and festivities while supplies last. These include building your own flower bar by Elegant Lllies, Coffee & Matcha from Cha Coffee Co., and Sweetgreen hats.
In addition, for every meal purchased on opening day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to Food for Others to nourish people in Northern Virginia experiencing food insecurity.

Sweetgreen's new 2,571-square-foot location at 6220 Old Dominion Drive will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
"Sweetgreen serves up its fan-favorite salads, warm bowls, protein plates, and sides, including the Harvest Bowl, Crispy Rice Bowl, Caramelized Garlic Steak, and Miso Glazed Salmon," according to a release. "Guests can also delight in the limited-time Fall Seasonal Menu, marking the return of Sweetgreen’s beloved Autumn Harvest Bowl, complemented by new fall-forward creations highlighting jammy roasted tomatoes, candied pumpkin seeds, and maple-glazed Brussels sprouts."

The restaurant was originally scheduled to open on Nov. 11, but on Nov. 10 the company announced that it was temporarily postponing the opening to a latter date, which is now Dec. 2.
