FAIRFAX, VA — Even though Nor'Easter is expected to drench Northern Virginia as it moves toward the Northeast, all Fairfax County government offices will be open on Tuesday. However, employees have been granted unscheduled leave as needed.

Fairfax County Public schools have also updated their operating status for Tuesday.

In addition, all federal offices in the Washington, D.C. area will be operating under a different status on Tuesday.

The following information was posted to the Fairfax County website on Monday evening:

  • Unscheduled leave is granted for employees as needed.
  • Emergency personnel should report as scheduled.
  • Teleworkers are expected to telework or use personal leave.
  • To find specific department status updates for locations and programs, view the lists below.
  • Information and many services are available online at any time.
