In the flyer for the most recent party, held Saturday, Aug. 20, the party organizers gave an address for Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean as a location, stating there will be "free shuttle service." But the church has not given any sort of permission for any party-goers to use the parking lot on the weekends, a woman at the church said Tuesday.

A quick check on the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Web site did not immediately show any sort of temporary license to sell alcohol at the location. An ABC spokeswoman is looking into any licenses that may have been issued.

Meanwhile, detectives from Fairfax County's Major Crimes Division are continuing to investigate the shooting that took place Aug. 14, sometime after 4 a.m. on Dolley Madison Boulevard near the intersection of Kirby Road in McLean.

Police say it looks like the incident stemmed from some kind of an altercation between several people at the party in Arlington County earlier in the night. One group left the party in a car and when they reached Dolley Madison Boulevard and Kirby Road, another vehicle pulled alongside and fired several shots, striking two occupants in the first vehicle, according to police.

The unidentified suspect vehicle fled the scene, police said. In all, three of four people in one car were injured after someone pulled up in another vehicle and shot into the car, according to Officer Don Gotthardt, a spokesman for FCPD. Three men and one woman were in the car that was hit; two of the men were shot, one in the upper body and one in the lower body, and the woman was hit by glass fragments, he said. The driver was not hit.
