Shoplifting Suspect Who Led Police on Chase to I-395 Facing Charges
Fairfax County Police say suspect is D.C. man who tried to outrun police at Tysons; surrendered in the middle of the freeway Tuesday.

McLEAN, VA -- A man who led police on a chase from Tysons Corner Center shopping center and ended up surrendering to police more than 10 miles away, in the middle of the highway on Interstate 395 in Arlington County, is facing charges, Fairfax County Police announced Friday morning.

Brandon Forrest, 30, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged in Tuesday’s pursuit from Tysons Corner Center, that ended in a dramatic fashion in the middle of the freeway on I-395 and Washington Boulevard, police said. Several police cruisers boxed in the getaway car. Three suspects were taken into custody but information was only available on Forrest. An FCPD spokeswoman said Friday he was the driver of the car.
After the officers concluded their investigation, Forrest was taken to the adult detention center in Fairfax County, where he was charged with possession of stolen property with the intent to sell and two counts of grand larceny. Information about any summons Forrest might be facing for traffic or other violations was not included in this report.
