MCLEAN, VA — Incumbent Democrat Rip Sullivan defeated Republican challenger Kristin Hoffman in Tuesday's Virginia House of Delegates race in District 6, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.

"I am honored that the voters of the 6th District have again entrusted me with their support and vote of confidence," Sullivan said, in a statement posted to his Facebook page. "We have made remarkable progress since I have been in the General Assembly, but there is much more work to do. Prices continue to rise for too many Virginians. Our public education system needs additional support so that every student can receive the education they deserve. And we now have a federal administration which is deadset on disrespecting and denigrating our critically vital federal workforce. Now is not the time to rest on our laurels, but to lean into the issues impacting Virginians the most and make meaningful progress."

Sullivan garnered twice as many votes as his opponent, receiving 26,199 (66.46%) votes compared to Hoffman's 13,166 (33.40%) vote total, according to unofficial results.
