Suspect Faces Charges After Attempting to Steal Car in McLean: Police

Police arrived in the early hours Thursday to the 6200 block of Park Road, where they found suspect inside car.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police apprehended a suspect in the early hours last Thursday, who they say was attempting to steal a car in McLean.

Police say the incident took place in the 6200 block of Park Road (see map below) Thursday at 3:12 a.m. Officers observed a man moving around inside of a parked car, police said. They approached him and he fled from the car. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Shawn Rolfs, 48, of Richmond, was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, larceny, three counts of possession of stolen property, vehicle trespassing, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and possession of a schedule I/II narcotic. according to police.
