Moneybasket McLean. Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine stopped by McLean Thursday night for a fundraiser at the Chesterbrook home of the Lodal's. She's a former principal of Thomas Jefferson and McLean High Schools.

On the GOP side, Bobbie Kilberg, president of the Northern Virginia Tech Council and a White House staffer in both Bush administrations,  is emerging as a energetic and effective fundraiser for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Politicians come to McLean for the same reason Jesse James robbed banks: This is where the money is. The two McLean zip codes rank among the top 10 zip codes in the U.S. for political donations.

Who Are Those People? MPA kicks off its 50th birthday celebration tonight with a party in the Langley Shopping Center on Chain Bridge Road. It's  a Pop Up party, a fundraiser, and it's sold out.

Help Wanted: McLean Country Day Head of School. Country Day School, reputed to be the toniest  pre-school in McLean, is advertising for a new head of school. Mum's the word on what happened to the previous CDS director.  

The job of running the exclusive Georgetown Pike pre-school, enrollment of 270 youngsters from 2-6 years old, was posted on CareerBuilder about two weeks ago. No salary listed.

Wrap a Wok. Anne Elizabeth Kristol, a daughter of Susan and William Kristol of McLean, Va., is to be married Sunday evening to Matthew Joseph Continetti, a son of Cathy Continetti and Joseph F. Continetti of Springfield, Va., according to the New York Times.

Dad is editor of The Weekly Standard. The bride, 26, who will be taking her husband’s name, is studying for a master’s in secondary education at George Washington University. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, the Times reported.

The bridegroom, 30, is the editor of The Washington Free Beacon, a political Web site, and works in Washington. He is also a contributing editor for The Weekly Standard and the author of several books, the Times reported.
