The CIA is a star with its own TV series. The Military Channel is airing "CIA Secrets" at varying times between now and June 23. Here's the schedule.

McLean Ear found the series late last week when it aired the heart-stopping story of how a former McLean resident smuggled six American diplomats out of Iran after the takeover of the American Embassy in 1979.

If that story sounds familiar it's because that's the movie was filming when he came to McLean in November 2011. Affleck is the star and director of "Argo." Here's the official trailer.

New Leader for Country Day School. Diane Dunne has been named Head of Country Day School. Country Day School, reputed to be the toniest  pre-school in McLean.

Dunne has been Acting Head of School, since February. She was hired  in 1986.  At Country Day, she has served as an assistant teacher, lead teacher and part and full day coordinator.  She is a Navy spouse. Her husband has served as Commander of the Naval Forces in Guam, said a note to parents from Janie Strauss, chair of the Country Day School board of directors. Yes that is the same Janie Strauss who is the Dranesville School Board representative.

Mum's the word on what happened to the previous CDS director.  The Georgetown Pike pre-school has an enrollment of 270 youngsters from 2-6 years old.

Kevin Fay the Graduation Speaker. McLean neighbor Kevin Fay returned to Bishop O'Connell High School recently as this year's speaker. He graduated in 1973.

"As you leave Bishop O’Connell, I urge you to ask yourself what you can do in your future pursuits to be a change agent.  During his political career, Robert Kennedy often quoted playwright and Nobel laureate George Bernard Shaw, who wrote that “Some men see things as they are and say why, others dream things that never were and say why not?” Fay advised the graduates.

Fay spoke at the 52nd Commencement Exercises for Bishop O’Connell High School. The Class of 2012 had 276 seniors.

Woman's Club Donation to Lemon Road Elementary.  The  Woman’s Club of McLean presented a check for $1,000 to representatives of Fairfax County’s Lemon Road elementary school, in McLean last week. Iris Reimann presented the check to the school’s assistant principal, Deborah Woolfolk, and its reading specialist, Karla Barnes, who said the gift will be used for the school’s reading program.
