Police: 'Too Early to Tell' if McLean, Idylwood Burglaries are Connected
Fairfax County Police are stepping up patrols and are asking residents to stay vigilant.
It is too early to tell whether the three burglaries Friday in Idylwood are connected to each other or if they are connected to 10 burglaries that occured the Friday before in McLean, Fairfax County Police Department officials say.

In the Friday, May 10 burglaries, three homes were broken into with forced entry through windows. Forced entry was also used in the 10 burglaries on Friday, May 3.
Fairfax County Police officers from the McLean District have stepped up patrols in the area, but Officer Bud Walker said neighbors watching out for neighbors is a huge part of home safety.

Police are asking retirees and anyone else who may be at home during the day to keep an eye on their neighbors' homes. Walker said people should call police when they see unusual activity, noting that residents may notice unfamiliar cars and people in an area before a police officer does.
