Traffic Alert: Up to 30 minute Overnight Beltway Closings, Overnight Dulles Connector Rd. Closings

Here's this week's list of traffic traumas occasioned by the simultaneous construction of the rail line to Dulles and the HOT Lanes through McLean and Tysons Corner.

I-495 south from Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) to Oak St. overpass - Three lanes closed Monday – Saturday nights for overhead sign and paving work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-495 south to Exit 45B, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east - Ramp closed Sunday - Friday for overhang removal. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west at I-495 - Road closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge painting. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 45A, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Road closed Sunday - Friday night for sign installation. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Two left lanes closed Monday - Saturday nights for overhang removal. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) east from Trap Rd. to Spring Hill Rd. - Three right lanes closed Sunday - Thursday nights for bridge work.

Ramp from Eastbound Route 267 onto Southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) Closed Overnights
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail construction will implement the closure of the ramp from eastbound Route 267 onto southbound Route 123 overnights next week to allow crews to install systems cables over the roadway. This closure will be in place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 11 through Saturday, June 16.
 
Three Lanes of Eastbound Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) Closed Next Overnights

Three right lanes of eastbound Route 267 will be closed overnights next week to allow for grouting and welding over the highway. These lanes will be closed between approximately 2000 feet west of Trap Road to Leesburg Pike (Route 7), from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, June 10 through Thursday, June 14. Ramps to eastbound and westbound Route 7 will remain open.
 
Left Turns from Eastbound Route 7 onto Spring Hill Road to Close Overnights
 
The left turn lanes from eastbound Route 7 onto Spring Hill Road will close overnights next week, due to precast concrete installation at nearby Tysons West Station. These lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 11, through Thursday, June 14, and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday, June 15.
 
Detour: Continue on eastbound Route 7, U-turn at Westpark Drive or International Drive, then follow westbound Route 7 to access Spring Hill Road.
 
Additionally, the left thru lane of eastbound Route 7 will be closed between Westwood Center Drive and Spring Hill Road during this time.
 
Left Turns from Westbound Route 7 onto Westwood Center Drive to Close Overnights
 
Acoustical panel installation will cause the left turn lanes from westbound Route 7 onto Westwood Center Drive to close overnights Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
 
Detour: Continue on westbound Route 7, U-turn at Jarrett Valley Drive, then follow eastbound Route 7 to access Westwood Center Drive.
 
The left thru lane of westbound Route 7 will be closed from approximately 1500 feet east of Spring Hill Road and Westwood Center Drive during this time.
 
Turns from Route 123 onto Tysons Boulevard Closed Overnights
 
Turn lanes onto Tysons Boulevard from northbound and southbound Route 123 will be closed overnights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 11, through Thursday, June 14, and from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, June 15, to allow for overhead station work in the area.
 
Detours around this closure will be in place. Please use extreme caution, pay attention to signage, and obey police direction if traveling around this intersection.
