FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- In addition to being able to get a driver's license at the Tysons DMV, you'll also now be able to complete an application that makes it easier to travel through security at airports.
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will open a new TSA Pre✓®application center Wednesday inside the DMV Customer Service Center in Tysons, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
The Virginia DMV is the first motor vehicle agency in the nation to offer TSA Pre✓® application services, according to TSA.

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents can now go through a pre-enrollment process online at www.TSA.gov, make an appointment and complete their enrollment in-person or as a walk-in at the DMV office, the TSA said in their announcement Monday.
Staff in the application center will verify the identity of the applicants who just need to provide documentation to confirm their citizenship/immigration status as well as to provide fingerprints.

This application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to enroll directly in TSA Pre✓®, an expedited screening program that allows travelers to keep on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, in select airport checkpoint screening lanes. More than 170 airports participate in TSA Pre✓® nationwide.
The Tysons Corner Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center is located at 1968 Gallows Road in the Tysons area (see Google map below).
DMV hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
