Tysons Walmart Gears Up For Opening
New temporary hiring center in Vienna is accepting applications.

Walmart has opened a temporary hiring center to fill approximately 200 positions at its new location in Tysons Corner, which is set to open by September.
Representatives will accept applications between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and appointment on Saturday at the hiring center at 8603 Westwood Center Drive, suite 200, in Vienna.
Applicants will be interviewing for both full- and part-time positions at the 79,000-square-foot-store, which is part of developer JBG Rosenfeld Retail’s mixed-use development project at the corner of Rt. 7 and Westwood Center Drive.

Walmart will accompany 24 Hour Fitness as one of the flagship stores for the development. Hiring officials are looking for applicants to fill management, pharmacy, human resources, cashier and customer service jobs, among others.
JBG unveiled in April the large public art installation that will grace the entrance of the Walmart – “The Thought,” a sculpture by Washington, D.C.-based artist Robert Cole.

This is the first phase of what JBG hopes to turn into another large-scale Tysons development. Rezoning applications are pending for an office building and a high-rise residential building with additional retail space. The finished development will comprise 1.6 million square feet over 16 acres.
It will be within walking distance from the Silver Line’s Tysons-Spring Hill Metro station, slated to open at the end of 2013.
