Virginia Tax-Free Weekend 2016 for School Supplies, Energy Saving Appliances and Storm Prep Items
Virginia shoppers will get some help this weekend. Here's a list of what's included, and a few things that aren't tax free.

Once divided into three tax-free weekends, Virginia's sales tax holidays have been collected into one weekend of deals.
Virginia's sales tax holiday runs from Aug. 5-7, 2016. It arrives as back-to-school shopping reaches its peak, particularly for college students. Other tax-free items this weekend include energy-saving appliances and storm preparedness tools, with hurricane season ramping up.
State taxes are waived on purchases in stores, online and by mail or phone, according to the Virginia Department of Taxation.
