Virginia's Best Luxury Hotels for 2017

MCLEAN, VA— The Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner and The Inn at Little Washington are among the best hotels in the nation, according to a new list released Thursday from U.S. News and World Report. The magazine ranked 43 luxury hotels in Virginia for its new 2017 list.

The rankings are determined by using opinions from travel experts and online guest reviews at TripAdvisor. U.S. News limits the list to luxury hotels, so don't be surprised when you can't find your roadside standards.

The top hotel in the nation is Chicago's The Langham, with Hawaii's Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at No. 2 and D.C.'s The Jefferson at No. 3.

Primland at Meadows of Dan is the state's top hotel, according to U.S. News. The The Ritz-Carlton at Tysons is No. 2, called "a fashionista's dream hotel" because of its location in Tysons Galleria. At No. 3 in the state, The Inn at Little Washington found praise for its "romantic atmosphere, exceptional service and top-notch accommodations."

Other area hotels recognized as being among the best: Salamander Resort & Spa and The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City.
