Wayfair To Open Tysons Pop-Up Store: Report
The online retailer Wayfair will sell furniture and home furnishings in a new "pop-up" store in Tysons Corner Center, says media report.
McLEAN, VA — Wayfair, the fast-growing online retailer of furniture and home decor items, will move from the virtual world to the real world by opening a "pop-up shop" in Tysons Corner Center, according to a media report.
The Wayfair Décor & Inspiration Shop will open its doors in the mall on Aug. 1 for a three-month run, the Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday.
The Boston-based retailer is "capitalizing on the increasingly popular pop-up concept as brick-and-mortar retail sales continue to droop under the pressure of e-commerce," the Business Journal reported. Pop-up shops are temporary spaces in which retailers sell items for a short period, ranging from several days to several months.
