All the President's Pups: Walking Tours at Mount Vernon
Bring your pooch along to explore history on these upcoming fall dates.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Looking for some adventurous outings with your furry best friend? Look no further than George Washington's Mount Vernon.
You can bring your dog along for a 1.25-mile walking tour and explore canine life at Mount Vernon, from the first president’s dogs to the dogs that live at the estate today. The tour stops at five historic locations, including the West Gate. Along the way, learn about George Washington's love for dogs, his dogs' unusual names, and his efforts to improve the quality of his hunting dogs through breeding.
The tours required payment for a general admission ticket plus $7; the special tours are scheduled on Saturdays at 10 a.m. on the following dates:
