Boy Riding Skateboard Robbed of Cell Phone in Mount Vernon Area: Police

Police say a black car drove up and the passenger got out and demanded cash.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A 15-year old boy riding a skateboard Thursday night was robbed of his cell phone, according to police.

Police say the robbery took place near Lawrence Street and Steadman Place (see map below) around 9:43 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the boy was riding his skateboard when a car pulled up. A man got out of the passenger side of the car and approached the victim, pushed him and demanded money, according to police.

The victim refused and the suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone and fled, police said.

The suspect was described as black, between 18 and 25 years old, wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants, police said. The car was described as a black sedan. The victim did not require medical attention.
