Celebrate the 2013 Presidential Inauguration at Historic Mount Vernon

George Washington's home will host special activities in honor of the 2013 presidential inauguration.

If you can’t make it to D.C. to see the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, you can commemorate this historic event at Mount Vernon.

Historic Mount Vernon will host a variety of family-friendly events during the weekend of the presidential inauguration. During that weekend, children can participate in the George Washington Presidential Scavenger Hunt, searching the Mount Vernon Estate for clues that will lead to a special prize.

Visitors can also view a replica of the first presidential inauguration and place their hand on a reproduction of the bible upon which George Washington took the oath of office. The annotated copy of George Washington’s Acts of Congress will be on display at the Donald W. Reynolds Museum.
