The Hurricane Foundation is looking for donations to get our housing initiatives off and running. We want to purchase some land and building a housing building for our Homeless Female Veterans and their Children have somewhere to reside in the Virginia Metropolitan area. The housing units can already have rooms in them allowing the Hurricane Foundation, Inc to provide those housing units to individuals in need. A fire broke out at Friendly's Rent-A-Car located at 8145 Richmond Hwy. in Mount Vernon Sunday afternoon. The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department received a call about the fire at 5:20 p.m. and reported to the scene. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by 6 p.m.  The cause of the fire is currently still under investigation. Check back with Patch for updates on this breaking news story.
