The Hurricane Foundation is looking for donations to get our housing initiatives off and running. We want to purchase some land and building a housing building for our Homeless Female Veterans and their Children have somewhere to reside in the Virginia Metropolitan area. The housing units can already have rooms in them allowing the Hurricane Foundation, Inc to provide those housing units to individuals in need. Mount Vernon High School students recently took part in a new community service project called MVHS Community Clean-Up. Students Brdget Awantoh, Joseph Hood, and David Sopko collected 16 bags of garbage from the neighborhood surrounding Mount Vernon High School. The community service project will show the community Mount Vernon High School students have pride in their school and community.  Project coordinator Jolinda Sopko has had more student volunteers sign-up and plans to have another clean-up in April.
