'Skimming Device' Found at Richmond Highway Gas Station: Police

An employee at the station discovered the device Tuesday and called police. Device can capture customer financial information.​

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police report that a "skimming device" was found at the Woodlawn Gulf gas station Tuesday afternoon, after an employee noticed unusual marks on one of the pumps and discovered a device attached to the pump.

The gas station, Woodlawn Gulf, is located at 8689 Richmond Highway, police said. (See map below.) The station was previously a Woodlawn Chevron station, an employee at the station said Wednesday.

The employee immediately called police and an investigation is underway. A skimming device can be used to fraudulently capture customer financial information.
