City Of Norfolk: Man Charged Following Officer-Involved Shooting On Granby Street

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 34-year-old man has been charged for an incident that led to two Officers discharging their firearms Saturday night on Granby Street

On February 12, 2022, around 10:30 p.m., Norfolk Police responded for the report of a person with a weapon in the 100 block of Granby Street. When officers arrived, they encountered a man who was armed with a handgun. The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
As a result of their investigation, Norfolk detectives have charged Barry D. Carrington Jr., of Norfolk, with two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and discharging a firearm in public. Carrington Jr. is currently being held without bond.
