Fair Oaks Police Log: Jan. 26-Feb. 1

For the week ending Feb. 1, there were 13 larcenies and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Larcenies

• 2600 Babcock Road, radio stolen from vehicle
• 11000 Byrd Drive, license plate stolen from vehicle
• 5400 Dublin Avenue, laptop computer and bike stolen from residence
• 12500 Fair Lakes Circle, merchandise stolen from business
• 4400 Fair Stone Drive, television stolen from residence
• 4200 Fairfax Corner Avenue, credit cards and check book stolen from business
• 12200 Fairfax Towne Center, 10 bags of frozen shrimp stolen from business
• 5600 Hampton Forest Way, radar detector, DVD player and sunglasses stolen from vehicle
• 11100 Lee Highway, electronics stolen from business
• 13000 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, bourbon stolen from business
• 13600 Legacy Circle, sunglasses and sub-woofer stolen from vehicle
• 4100 Maureen Lane, tools stolen from vehicle
• 2500 Rambling Road, money stolen from vehicle
• 2900 Sutton Road, laptop computer and purse stolen from vehicle

Animal Control Division

Dog Bite/Deadly Force: A police officer shot and killed a Rottweiler dog on Sunday, January 29 shortly after 2 p.m. The officer responded to the 2800 block of Derek Road for the report of an 81-year-old man being attacked by a dog. The officer shot the dog after several unsuccessful attempts were made to pull the dog off the man. Further investigation determined the man was walking outside when the dog got loose and attacked him.
