Introducing: Oakton Patch Moms Council

Meet the local moms on our council

Oakton Patch has organized a Moms Council, made up of experts and smart moms to take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Before the Moms Council kicks off its first Moms Talk Q&A at 1 p.m., they want to introduce themselves.

Judy Beattie is an 86-year-old mother of four and grandmother of seven. She is a widow and former Foreign Service wife, who works full time running Hunter Mill Country Day School and is an active member of the Friends of Oakton Library. I'm sure her experience at the school will add valuable insight to this group.

Bree Bell is the mother of 4-year-old Grant and 2-year-old Emily. She and her husband, both of whom are lifelong residents of the Vienna/Oakton area, work from home.

Linda Byrne is a mother of two grown children. Her daughter is a curator at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and her son is a commercial officer with Rolls-Royce. She is the president of the Oakton Women's Club, a board member of the Friends of Oakton Library, a part-time employee in Providence Supervisor Linda Smyth's office, and vice president of Fairfax4Horses. She is also in a group called Womenade, which meets six or more times a year for a potluck dinner at a member's house and pool money that would've been spent on a dinner at a restaurant to donate to women in need in the area.
