Police Use Stun Gun During Arrest of Oakton Man
Robert Epperson arrested for driving while intoxicated for the third time in 10 years

Fairfax County Police used a stun gun during the arrest of an Oakton man for driving while intoxicated, officials said.
Robert Horton Epperson, 50, of Geneva Hill Court in Oakton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated — his third DWI offense in less than 10 years — and concealing a weapon while intoxicated around 5:36 p.m. Monday, said Officer Eddy Azcarate, a spokesperson for FCPD.
An officer conducted the traffic stop at the intersection of Hannah Farms Road and Lassawade Court in Oakton after Epperson showed signs of driving while intoxicated. Azcarate said an officer used a conductive energy weapon, commonly known as a stun gun, "based on actions [Epperson] took" during the field sobriety tests, but would not elaborate on those actions.
