3 Alexandria High School Wrestlers Participate In State Championship
Three Alexandria City High School wrestlers participated in the state championship after excelling in districts and regionals.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Three wrestlers from Alexandria City High School participated in the state championship last weekend.
The three wrestlers were part of the Virginia High School League Wrestling State Championship, which drew participants from around Virginia. Senior Calvin Wiedemer placed third, while senior Bassem Sliti and sophomore Juelz Peters each won a match.
Wiedemer placed first in the districts and regionals to get to the state championship. He will continue wrestling at Washington & Liberty University next year.

Sliti placed third in the district and regional levels to advance to the state championship. He intends to attend college and has interest from Bluefield University and Marymount University.
Peters, representing Alexandria as a heavywight, placed third in districts and regionals to get to the state championship. He is expected to gain more experience over the summer to make gains against competition.
