3 Teens Charged In Alexandria Homicide With 2 Other Victims Injured By Gunshots: Police
Alexandria Police Chief Tarrick McGuire put out a call to action against gun violence after three teens were charged in a homicide.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Three teens have been charged in a 2024 homicide tied to a shooting that also injured two people in Alexandria's Old Town West neighborhood.
Alexandria Police announced the arrests for the Sept. 19, 2024 homicide at a news conference Monday. Three juveniles between ages 16 and 17 were each charged with murder by mob, two counts of malicious wounding by mob and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The three suspects are being held without bond.
Alexandria Police Chief Tarrick McGuire said progress in the case was due to "ballistic technology and the support of our regional jurisdictions." Police indicated multiple stolen guns were found at the scene.

"There is no place for gun violence in our community," said McGuire. "What's most concerning about this, is that today I have to stand in front of our community to say that we have charged three juveniles with murder. It's not a proud moment."
Alexandria Police had responded to a gunshots report in the 1300 block of Wythe Street in Old Town West around 8:14 p.m. on Sept. Officers found two adult men with gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition and one stable. The third injured person was a 15-year-old boy who was grazed by a bullet and was treated on scene.

One victim, identified as Kwakia Frazier, 25, of Alexandria, died of his injuries. The other victim, a 46-year-old man from Alexandria, who police say was shot while on the phone outside his apartment, was in stable condition.
Police have not identified a motive for the shooting, but the police chief said it was a "purposeful action."
In light of the homicide, McGuire urged a call to action about gun safety.
"I'm asking everyone in this community to ensure that they are taking steps for securing their firearms," said McGuire.
