Alexandria Chamber Hosts 'Tomorrow's Alexandria' Forum

The forums will discuss Business Improvement Districts in the local communities and why Broadband is important in economic development.

From Alexandria Chamber: As the centerpiece of the Chamber's Tomorrow's Alexandria initiative, each Forum will feature conversations on issues of interest to particular sections of Alexandria as well as to the City as a whole. These conversations will be the start of what we hope will be a City-wide discussion of how we can work together to realize Tomorrow's Alexandria.

Our first Forum will feature two moderated conversations with experts who will also engage with Forum participants through a question and answer session.

Our first conversation will center on Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) - what they are, how they work, and how other local communities in the Washington Metro area have implemented them successfully. Featuring: Tina Leone, Ballston BID and Michael Stevens, Capitol Riverfront BID.

Our second conversation will focus on Broadband - why it's such an important economic development concern and what Alexandria needs to do to stay competitive in an increasingly networked world. Featuring:
Allison Cryor DiNardo, King Street Wireless and Catharine Rice, City of Alexandria Commission on Information Technology.
