Alexandria Fire Crews Seal Waterfront Propane Leak
City announces evacuation of half-mile radius, then says no evacuation was needed.

Alexandria fire crews sealed a propane leak at Robinson Terminal North on the Old Town waterfront late Saturday evening.
At 10:19 p.m., the city announced a precautionary evacuation of a half-mile radius around the tank, located at 1 Oronoco St.
According to a news release from the city, the evacuation area included Oronoco Bay Park, Founders Park and a number of nearby homes.

At 11 p.m., the city announced via its Twitter account that no evacuation was needed. The leak was sealed and Union Street north of Prince Street reopened to traffic after fire trucks left the scene.
