Alexandria Man Dies After Shooting Early Saturday on First Street: Police

The homicide is the fourth in 2016, according to police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- An Alexandria man is dead Saturday after he was shot overnight on First Street, according to Alexandria Police.

The victim has been identified as Saquan Hall, 23, of Alexandria.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting that occurred just around 3:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of First Street (see map below).

The location is fairly close to where a fatal shooting took place, in the 1000 block of Montgomery Street, in the middle of the day on Wednesday, June 8.

At approximately 3:33 a.m., officers responded to the area for a shooting, police said, locating a man who was suffering from trauma to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

A resident who lives near the scene said he heard "maybe ten shots in small groups" that woke him up.

The area where the shooting took place was in the vicinity of a community walk held by Alexandria Police Thursday night.

There was no information released by police about a possible suspect or suspects in the case.
