Alexandria Men Charged in Connection With Marijuana Distribution Ring

Men allegedly worked as part of nationwide drug ring with central location in California

Eighteen people have been charged in the Eastern District of Virginia for allegedly participating in a national distribution ring of marijuana, including men from Alexandria.

The ring is led by Anthony (Ant) Guidry of Vallejo, Calif. He is thought to have trained and worked with men who sold marijuana grown or bought from growers in northern California.

Guidry allegedly recruited distributors including college athletes to help open distribution centers in cities and college campuses in Virginia and 10 other states.

Court records show, according to the FBI, that the ring was uncovered through the arrest of Moataz (Mo) Mohammad Masoud, 26, of Alexandria on Jan. 12, 2010.

James Cody Cutri, 22, of Springfield, Va., is allegedly the leader of a marijuana and oxycontin distribution network and works with Nahom Hagos, 23, of Alexandria, among many other people.
