Gun Fired During King Street Robbery In Alexandria, Armed Suspect Arrested: Police

The suspect who fired a gun during a robbery on King Street has been arrested, according to Alexandria Police.

UPDATE: Alexandria Police said the suspect, Dexter Brown, is now in police custody and thanked the community for their assistance.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An "armed and dangerous" suspect remains at large after an armed robbery with shots fired in Old Town Alexandria Friday, according to police.

Officers responded around 10:32 a.m. Friday to the 1300 block of King Street for a commercial robbery. Police say a known suspect, Dexter Brown, entered a business and fired a gun multiple times. He took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled. There were no reported injuries. ALX Now reported the location as Stage Door Deli based on emergency dispatch information.

Brown, 37, is wanted on charges of robbery while armed, shooting in an occupied dwelling, violent felon in possession of a firearm, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police are considering Brown armed and dangerous and said residents should not approach him. Detectives are currently following leads in the case.
