Opening Monday in Alexandria: Boutique Studio barre3
First barre3 studio to open in Virginia will be opening Monday in Alexandria.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Barre3, a leader in the ballet barre fitness movement, is set to open its first location in Virginia Monday, Oct. 10 in Old Town Alexandria. Located at 715 Duke St., the studio will celebrate its opening by offering free classes and childcare during its first week.
What is Barre3? It describes itself as "a modern evolution of the ballet barre workout created by fitness expert, Sadie Lincoln, barre3 offers a whole-body health approach to wellness with smart, balanced and incredibly effective ballet barre workouts influenced by yoga and Pilates and nutritious whole-foods-based recipes. Since launching in 2008, barre3 has grown to more than 100 studios around the globe, building a worldwide community of fiercely loyal fans who are inspired by healthy, balanced living and captivated by the intense workouts in studios and online videos."
Meredith Kaufman, owner of the Old Town Alexandria location, says that opening a studio in Old Town was a no-brainer. “I love having the opportunity to do what I love every day. Barre3 changed my life in almost every aspect – from my work-life balance to personal relationships to friendships. I want to build a community and share barre3 with as many people as I can.” says Kaufman. “My passion is teaching and connecting with clients beyond the barre. Providing a great workout, but also building a community feel within our studio is what we will strive for every day.”

Barre3’s signature workouts balance strength training through isometric holds and small, one-inch movements with seamless recovery stretches. Unlike other barre-inspired workouts, barre3 incorporates larger, functional movements with cardio to jumpstart the metabolism and re-oxygenate the body. Old Town Grand Opening Details:
To celebrate their opening, barre3 Old Town will offer free classes (with free childcare) during the first week of business, Oct. 10 – Oct. 16, and will be partnering with local retailers to raffle prizes and gifts. Also, for a limited time, barre3 Old Town will be offering a specially priced Founding Membership option for their unlimited monthly membership, which includes 10 percent off retail in-store.
The Founding Membership pricing is $129 a month for unlimited classes, according to thebarre3 Old Town Alexandria Facebook page.
Going forward, barre3 Old Town will make their whole-body health lifestyle easily accessible to all with a robust class schedule (classes will run seven days a week as early as 5:45 a.m. and as late 7 p.m.) with barre3’s childcare available during many classes each week.
