Bridal Boutique 'Say Yes for Less' Opens in Old Town Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Old Town Alexandria has a new go-to spot for today's brides called "Say Yes for Less," in a nod to popular wedding TV program, "Say Yes to the Dress." The discount boutique is owned and managed by Pamela Vito, the longtime owner of Hannelore's, an Alexandria institution.

The new boutique recently opened in the former home of Hannelore's, at 106 N. Lee St. in Old Town Alexandria and is offering a new fresh approach to today's bride, Vito said Monday.

Vito is offering deep discounts to brides looking for luxury for less. With her many bridal store contacts throughout the area, she is offering brides sample wedding gowns, which usually come in size 8 or 10 but usually fit smaller sizes as well. Sample dresses are dresses that are on display at bridal stores. Vito also has a large inventory of gowns in larger sizes she purchased from Curvaceous Couture and Curvy Girl Bride.

If a bridal gown needs alterations, Vito still works closely with the seamstresses who worked at Hannelore's for more than 20 years.

In addition to bridal gowns, Say Yes for Less also features mother-of-the-bride (and groom) dresses, usually priced between about $500 to $900, Vito said. The store also offers tuxedos for sale at a discount as well as veils and bridal jewelry.

How big a discount can you expect at Say Yes for Less? Vito says "at a minimum 25 percent less" but some discounts are up to as much as 75 percent off.

Vito also noted that her 15,000-square foot building, which she owns at 106 N. Lee, is for sale or lease; if a deal is made, she'll continue with Say Yes for Less, but will relocate in the area.
