Carrel Leaving as Director of Office of the Arts

Carrel plans to relocate near her parents.

Alisa Carrel is leaving her position as Alexandria's director of the Office of the Arts.

She told Patch that after 20 years as an Alexandrian, she is moving back to Michigan to be near her parents.

Her last day is July 6, but she is volunteering to work an extra day so she can view the artists' proposals for Freedmen's Cemetery at a reception on July 7.
