Crime Report: More Package Thefts in Old Town Alexandria

Aug. 30 – An assault with a deadly weapon occurred at S. Henry St. and Wilkes St. at 8:58 p.m.

Aug. 29 – Shoplifting occurred in the 400 block of King St. at 2:32 p.m.

Aug. 29 – A man reported that a known subject assaulted him when he attempted to notify a mutual friend that his vehicle lights were on in the 2300 block of Mill Rd.

Aug. 28 – Police approached a subject who was suspected to be tampering with vehicles around the 500 block of S. Columbus St. The subject was confronted and eventually arrested for police assault, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.

Aug. 28 – Larceny and theft offenses occurred in the 100 block of N. Alfred St. at 10:12 a.m.

Aug. 28 – An assault occurred at 7:05 p.m. at S. Patrick and Wilkes streets between two people who knew each other.

Aug. 28 – A women reported that someone stole her keys from a table at the Barrett Branch library on Queen St. at 2:23 p.m.

Aug. 27 – Thieves stole two delivered packages from a resident’s doorstep around 2:04 p.m. while the resident was on vacation from the 700 block of Gibbon St.

Aug. 27 – A man in the 800 block of N. Fairfax St. reported that an unknown suspect used personal credit card data to make fraudulent purchases.

Aug. 27 – An assault occurred between several people and residents in the 700 block of N. Fayette St.

Aug. 27 – Thieves stole a bag containing three backpacks left on a porch for charity pickup in the 700 block of Day Lane in the Potomac Greens neighborhood.

Aug. 27 – A woman reported that a UPS-delivered package was stolen from her doorstep in the 1600 block of Hunting Creek Dr. around 11:19 a.m.

Aug. 26 – A shop owner reported being robbed of jewelry at his store in the 1000 block of King St. around 3:18 p.m. by two well-dressed subjects who acted like customers but didn’t buy anything.

Aug. 25 – A thief stole a purse from a table at a restaurant in the 1100 block of King St. He was followed out of the restaurant by a witness who located the thief at the Metro where he was contacted by police. The subject was arrested for robbery and possession of marijuana.
