Delinquent Parking Tickets in Alexandria Mean No New Vehicle Registration Renewals
City is working with Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to halt registration renewals if vehicle owner has outstanding tickets.

Alexandria has asked the state's Department of Motor Vehicles to withhold registration renewals on any vehicle registered in the commonwealth with a delinquent City of Alexandria parking ticket.
Once a hold is in place, the vehicle owner will be required to pay the delinquent balance, plus an additional $20 administrative fee per hold before DMV will renew a vehicle registration.
Three delinquent citation fines could result in a boot on the vehicle by the Police Department, according to the city.
