Water Main Break: Edsall Road at S. Van Dorn Remains Closed Thursday

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Heads up morning commuters: Edsall Road between S. Van Dorn and S. Whiting near I-395 remains closed Thursday morning while repairs continue after a massive water main break Wednesday, Virginia American Water reports.

If you take the bus, Thursday morning bus Routes 321/322 are on detour due to the water main break on Edsall Road. Fairfax Connector reports: 322 - right on Whiting; right on Stevenson; right on Van Dorn 2/2.

The break has snarled traffic in the area and water pressure to nearby apartments in Alexandria's West End.

Virginia American Water reported Thursday morning: "Main break update -- one valve feeding Edsall fixed, working on second valve now. Apts on Edsall should start seeing water pressure increase slowly. Probably another couple hours before the second valve feeding S Whiting is fixed, and then we'll also be able to tackle replacing this: (click on third photo, above).
