'Felonious Assault' Sends Victim to Hospital Sunday in Alexandria: Police
A felonious assault usually means someone has used a gun or knife during an assault.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- A person was assaulted Sunday afternoon in Alexandria, according to police. The person suffered an injury to the abdomen and was transported to a hospital. Police sent out an alert about the assault at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the "felonious assault" took place Sunday at the intersection of Sanger Avenue and Beauregard Street (see map below), in the City's West End. A felonious assault is usually an assault with a knife or a gun, but police did not specify what kind of weapon was used.
