An investigation found the owner was moving the alligator from New York to a zoo in North Carolina. However, Virginia state codes bans the possession of certain exotic animals not native to Virginia. That led Fairfax County Police to safely escort the alligator and the owner out of the county.
There were no reported injuries from the encounter.
