GEICO to Celebrate Opening of New Alexandria Office

Grand opening will include chance to win Redskins tickets, gas card giveaway and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- GEICO's Alexandria local office, headed by agent Matthew McCarthy, will host a grand opening celebration Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at its office at 4617 Duke St. in Alexandria at the Shoppes at Foxchase.

Guests can enter to win two tickets to see the Washington Redskins play the division rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Oct. 16. Additional prizes include a $50 gas gift card giveaway, along with GEICO-branded merchandise.

The GEICO Gecko will be on hand to greet guests, as well as radio station 94.7 Fresh FM. As part of the event, McCarthy's office team also will present charitable donations to two causes they support: Research for breast cancer and leukemia/lymphoma.

"GEICO has a rich history in the Washington, D.C. metro area, having first come here nearly 80 years ago," McCarthy said. "Our staff carries on this tradition of excellence, bringing GEICO's outstanding service to local communities in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Arlington and locations throughout Fairfax County."

McCarthy and his sales staff, made up of Jay Romero, Amelia Lord, Ahmed Abdelaziz, Juan Zavala, Shane Turner and Carlos Santana deliver auto insurance to D.C., Maryland and Virginia drivers. McCarthy's staff also help with renters, condo and homeowner's policies and more forms of insurance. Members of certain alumni and professional organizations may qualify for additional savings, as well as military members and government employees.
