Get Artsy! Submit Your Poems and Pictures to the MAPP Project

The City of Alexandria is hosting a citywide art and poetry project sponsored by the Alexandria Commission for the Arts.

City Poet Laureate Amy Young is calling all Alexandria residents—children included—to write poems, paint or draw pictures or take photos that "capture the spirit of the street they live on."

Artwork for "Mapping Alexandria in Poems and Pictures," or MAPP, will be collected through August.

The submissions will become part of exhibits and an interactive map.
