Guitar Center Eyeing Early 2017 Opening in Alexandria?
Guitar Center currently has locations in Seven Corners area and Fairfax. Drum sets and other musical instruments are also sold.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Guitar Center is reportedly eyeing a January 2017 opening at its newest location at the Alexandria Commons Shopping Center on Duke Street.
In addition to guitars, the nationwide store sells drums, amplifiers and all sorts of musical equipment and accessories. The company got its start as The Organ Center in 1959 and is headquartered in Westlake Village, Calif.
The new store will be located at the former Staples store location, at 3155 Duke St. See a map of the shopping center here. The company currently has two locations in Northern Virginia, in the Seven Corners area of Fairfax County and in Fairfax.

Another nationwide music store familiar to many, Music & Arts, founded in 1952 in Bethesda, was bought by Guitar Center in 2005. Some Guitar Center stores rent instruments and offer lessons.
